Electric Motor Rewind Engineer

Main responsibilities:
Include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Identify the type of equipment needing repair such as AC/DC Motors, generators, armatures, transformers, coils, etc;
  • Inspect various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment equipment for damage and evidence of electrical malfunctions;
  • Document the external data associated with the equipment or winding;
  • Diagnose and/or test the equipment for malfunctions, failures or damage using diagnostic equipment such as megger, hi pot, AC or DC test panels and related equipment;
  • Dismantle equipment and collection internal data;
  • Identify and document internal winding data;
  • Convert internal winding data as applicable per guidelines;
  • Remove old winding from core or bobbin;
  • Utilize available core test equipment and programs to determine core viability and proper heat dispersion;
  • Repair or modify existing core to meet test criteria;
  • Complete full or partial core re-stack, if necessary;
  • Determine correct insulation of core and component parts applicable to the equipment Insulation Classification;
  • Correctly size and wind coils or wire applicable to insulated equipment;
  • Perform appropriate wire insertion, wedging and tying of winding or wire;
  • Perform connection sequence including equipment necessary for final soldering, brazing or welding of internal coil leads to exterior leads;
  • Tie and proof end clearance of finished winding;
  • Perform and document final electrical and mechanical test results of the winding, insulation and connections;
  • Apply the necessary fit, thread and identification coating to allow the correct insulating varnish application;
  • Dip and bake winding, if applicable;
  • Work closely with all departments;
  • Develop Engineering calculations, diagrams and technical reports;
  • Ensure projects are completed on-time and within the specific budget;
  • Promote the safety culture within the company by working within all safety policies.
Education/experience & Qualification:
  • Bachelor`s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Design or Electrical Engineering;
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in electrical / mechanical repair, motor shop servicing;
  • Experience in Explosion Proof would be advantage;
  • Experience in reading and understanding engineering drawings and electric and electronic circuit schematics;
  • Requires diagnostic trouble-shooting, disassembly, measurement, data collection, failure analysis, repair, re-assembly, testing and safety abilities at a career skilled tradesman level;
  • Must be proficient in working with standard and premium efficiency type motors;
  • Travel and work extended hours as required.

Main responsibilities:
Include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Disassemble, inspect, repair and assemble various types of electric motors;
  • Repair/replace other damaged components of motors;
  • Rewind electric motors;
  • Operate equipment to perform rewinds and repairs (overhead cranes, grinders, winding machines, ovens, etc);
  • Dismantle and/ or strip damaged or unserviceable electro-mechanical equipment;
  • Prepare all reusable parts for rewinding and inspect renewed parts for hidden, structural damage or unusual conditions;
  • Test rewound electro-mechanical equipment according to required Standards and document test results;
  • Tests windings for motor-housing clearance, grounds, and short circuits, using clearance gauge, growler, spring-steel blade, telephone receiver, insulation tester;
  • Winds new coils on armatures, stators, or rotors of used motors and generators;
  • May rewind defective coils;
  • Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis;
  • Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including but not limited to: winding machines, test panels, surge testers, core-loss testers, cut-off saws, burnout ovens, bake ovens, grinders, cranes, forklift trucks, brazing units, dip tanks, VPI systems, and various handheld power and non-power tools;
  • Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear (especially eye and ear protection);
  • Keep work area neat and clean as directed by supervisor;
  • Perform other skilled or non-skilled job related duties as directed by supervisor;
  • Promote the safety culture within the company by working within all safety policies.
Education/experience & Qualification:
  • Have some sort of mechanical/electrical background and qualifications;
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in electrical / mechanical repair, motor shop servicing;
  • Good understanding of working and maintaining motors;
  • Travel and work extended hours as required;
  • Able to use bearing puller tool and induction coil for bearing replacement;
  • Able to perform sizing work by using measurement tools;

  • Select correct pipe, elbows, flanges, hangers or supports, cut to correct length, thread pipe, bend pipe using saws, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine and plan assembly;
  • Layout, assemble, position, grind, align and fit components together usually for hydraulic or pneumatic processes;

Maintenance Engineer (Rotating Equipment)

Maintenance Engineer reports to Maintenance Delivery Manager and provides maintenance engineering support for Gas Compression and Power Generation stations and Top Drive units. The successful candidate will need to work closely with Field Service Engineers and Site Supervisors in order to achieve the continuous running of equipment and machinery. Maintenance engineer will work with other professionals in order to improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop maintenance strategies, procedures and methods; 
  • Review and update existing company maintenance strategy documents;

Education/experience & Qualification:
  • High school diploma in Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the engineering field, preferably in a similar field;
  • Expert knowledge of the rotating equipment (Gas Turbines, Gas Compressors) and auxiliaries (Gears, Couplings and Guards, Lube Oil System, Gas Fuel System, Liquid Fuel System, Seal Gas System etc.);
  • Ability to read technical drawings and schemes;
  • Good working knowledge of CMMS tools (Maximo, SAP-PM);
  • Understanding of CbM (Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, Thermography, Ultrasonic), PM and PdM techniques;
  • Experience in application of Root Cause Analysis Techniques (FMEA, FTA, 5 Whys, Ishikawa Diagrams, etc.);

  • Performs field inspections and oversees field measurements and data collection;
  • Performs package mechanical systems planned and corrective maintenance;

“ Field Service Supervisor reports to Maintenance Delivery Manager and responsible for supervision of Fields Service Engineers and third Party Service providers.

  • Performs instrumentation and control systems equipment calibration;  
  • Provide front line support to installation and commissioning activities;  
  • Conducts condition monitoring of equipment;  
  • Supports control system retrofit and upgrade scopes;  
  • Supports and emphasizes the importance of safety and environmental programs and ensures compliance with HSE standards;  
  • Initiates/participates in continuous improvement initiatives in the assigned area of responsibility;  
  • Communicates with the customer regarding the condition of equipment and repair work scope;  
  • Generates and submits field service reports;  
  • Ensures applicable Service Bulletins are reviewed and actions implemented if required;  
  • Recognizes problems and is proactive in helping to resolve them;  
  • Performs equipment troubleshooting and problem rectification;  
  • Evaluates component condition and repair options and performs a risk assessment for maintenance activities;  
  • Identifies and implements new or existing repair technology in the area of responsibility;  
  • Inspects completed work or work in progress to assure job quality, including off-site work performed by vendors at their facilities;  
  • Contributes to Computerized Maintenance Management System Program (CMMS);  
  • Performs field repair of driven equipment, pumps, compressors and generators;  
  • Identification & diagnosis of the control system, power output maximization and all subsequent failures for analysis;  
  • Ensure compliance with all company and governmental safety, environmental and health rules and regulations;  
  • Any and all other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor, including the possibility of occasional workshop-based activities.  

Education & experience:

  • High school diploma in Instrument and Control Engineering or equivalent;  
  • Detailed knowledge of power plant systems and equipment in the area of responsibility;  
  • Minimum 5 years experience in rotating equipment onsite maintenance, operations, troubleshooting, and repair;  
  • Exposure to PLC control systems (Allen Bradley PLC 5, RS/Logix 5000, Turbotronics);  
  • Experience in a similar industry is strongly preferred.

Education & experience:

  • High school diploma in Mechanical, Automation or Maintenance Engineering;  
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the engineering field, preferably in a similar field;
  • Expert knowledge of the rotating equipment (Gas Turbines, Gas Compressors) and its auxiliaries (Gears, Couplings and Guards, Lube Oil System, Gas Fuel System, Liquid Fuel System, Seal Gas System etc.);
  • Ability to read technical drawings and schemes;
  • Good working knowledge of CMMS tools (Maximo, SAP-PM); 
  • Experience in application of Root Cause Analysis Techniques (FMEA, FTA, 5 Whys, Ishikawa Diagrams, etc.); 
  • Troubleshooting experience;  
  • Good analytical abilities and problem-solving skills;  
  • Be able to work on own initiative, work to deadlines and also be a team player; nbsp;
  • An ability to work well under pressure; 
  • Time Management and leadership skills; 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; 
  • Fluent in Azerbaijani and English languages;

Valve Technician

“GVL LLC” is the service company providing valve maintenance, valve facility management and valve stock management services in Azerbaijan and Georgia. 
Main responsibilities:

Include, but are not limited to the following:
 

  • To carry out complete overhaul of different valves, actuators and gearboxes, unsupervised;
  • To complete testing / recertification of different valves and actuators as per required specification, unsupervised;
  • Competent to strip, assess, overhaul, assemble and recertify all types of valves including PSV’s, Ball, Globe, Check, Butterfly, Gate, Control, Parallel slide and Plug valves (unsupervised);
  • Competent to perform full testing (hydro and gas) as per the relevant standard test procedure, using company test equipment (unsupervised);
  • Provide technical support and expertise to company clients and Grade 2/3 valve technicians;
  • Able to compile strip down and overhaul reports for all valve types;
  • Able to perform QA/QC reviews on all work carried out;
  • Able to witness and sign as witness authority for all valve pressure testing;
  • To work unsupervised on/offshore and overseas at short notice;
  • Use basic measuring machining capability;  
  • Ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner, including appropriate Point of Work Risk Assessment, complete compliance with Quality Plan requirements, job routing;  
  • Prepare and check all detailed inspection reports, including making recommendations for repairs, upgrades and replacement parts requirements;  
  • Follows the company’s safety and environmental rules, policies and procedures;  
  • Health and safety in the workshop and sites;  
  • Participate in safety meetings;  
  • Operate, inspect, and maintain facilities in a safe condition;  
  • Report injuries, unsafe conditions, and incidents immediately.  

Education & experience:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience of working in a valve service and or valve manufacturing environment;
  • Competent knowledge and understanding of all types of valves and actuator systems;
  • Fully familiar with NBIC, BS, ANSI, API and ASME codes and their applications for all testing, measuring and applicable requirements;
  • Demonstrate problem solving and analytical capability.
